Thanks to the dedication of our members and experienced partners, a humanitarian aid truck set off from Ticino on February 9, 2023, filled with approximately 800 kg of clothing, 8 pallets of hygiene products, and 40 cubic metres of furniture (roughly 2500 kg). The truck arrived in the Kharkiv region on February 15, where local associations Brave to Rebuild and Trochy Vognju were waiting to receive the much-needed supplies.
We were able to collect such a large amount of aid thanks to the support of various local sponsors and partners, including Tavolino magico, which donated three pallets of food, drinks, and basic hygiene products. The Associazione Umanitaria Comunità Bosniaca in Ticino also played a crucial role in organizing the logistics of the trip and ensuring that all necessary documentation was in order.
The aid will be used to support Brave to Rebuild, a volunteer initiative helping people whose homes have been damaged, and Trochy Vognju, a project that offers school education and art therapy to displaced and orphaned children in Ukraine, as well as assisting needy families with food supplies.
We collected clothing and school supplies at an event held on the Lugano campus of USI on December 17. To stay up-to-date on our Association's activities and future initiatives, follow us on Instagram.
